North Lake Tahoe Resort Association/Chamber Offers Fall Business Workshops


For the eighth consecutive year, a training series is being offered for local business leaders to enhance workforce development and support business vitality. Four events will take place this fall, each with a distinct focus from NLTRA’s pillars of expertise: Marketing, Sales, Public Relations and Hospitality.

The first business workshop will take place on Tues., Oct. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach: How to Pitch Your Business and Network Effectively. Focusing on networking strategies and referral marketing, Melissa Forziat will take attendees through several key tools that are aimed at boosting business awareness and partnerships. The second follows on Weds., Nov. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Tahoe City Public Utility District: Effective Marketing and Advertising Tools for Small Businesses. This workshop is designed to help small businesses with their media buy. In addition to providing a worksheet that evaluates media opportunities and measures success, Christie Osborn of Mountainside Media will help attendees target the right audience, assess organic and paid options, and track a return on advertising dollars. Pre-registration for both workshops is required through Eventbrite, space is limited.

A free PR Summit will be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe on Thurs., Dec. 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with presentations from Visit California and TravelNevada. Their focus is to help the local business community manage the ever-evolving trend of social media influencers and sharing best practices from state-level Destination Marketing Organizations. Finally, the winter-themed Hospitality Training will take place Dec. 5 and 6 at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center in Tahoe City.
