PR Summit: Best Practice for Social Media Influencers

The focus of this PR Summit was to provide North Lake Tahoe partners with tips, tools and best practices for navigating social media influencers. Key industry leaders presented strategies, sample contracts and ways to integrate Influencers into a marketing campaign.

Presenters & Resources:
Liz Bowling, Director of Communications & Public Relations for the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association provided a fall recap that included pitch angles, media desksides and national placements, how to engage with the North Lake Tahoe PR Team, Crisis Communications for winter, and updates on transportation initiatives. Angie Pappas, Director of Public Relations for Visit California, leads the team responsible for developing global media, influencer relations and public affairs strategies that support the organization’s mission to inspire demand for the California brand and promote how much travel matters to the Golden State’s well-being. Angie shared Best Practices for Creating Impactful Influencer Programs.

Bethany Drysdale, Chief Communications Officer for TravelNevada, oversees all external communications for the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and all communications for the Division of Tourism’s integrated marketing efforts. Bethany provided an overview of TravelNevada's Social Media Influencer Strategy.

The Abbi Agency is North Lake Tahoe's agency of record for social media, content and public relations. The team presented a social media overview specific to North Lake Tahoe channels as well as insights on working with Social Influencers to promote a destination.
