NLTRA's COVID-19 Response Efforts
The North Lake Tahoe Resort Association/Chamber of Commerce presented COVID-19 response efforts to the Placer County Board of Supervisors on Monday. The presentation highlighted work completed over the past three months to support the local business community and concurrently, manage all aspects of responsible tourism and safety messaging.
In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our regional communities, NLTRA response tactics have focused on local + visitor communications, business advocacy and community support.
As one of two Destination Management Organizations for North Lake Tahoe (Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau being the other), promoting travel to the region has shifted dramatically since the onset of COVID-19. We have worked tirelessly to manage incoming visitors responsibly while balancing our core goal of supporting local business. Sometimes that meant asking potential visitors to stay home and support the North Lake Tahoe community from afar, other times that meant creating content campaigns rooted in safety messaging. The local business community was at the forefront of our efforts to reopen safely. Our combined goal is to ensure full-time residents are safe and business recovery tools are in place and communicated. Throughout the presentation below you will see examples of this work:
