Eviction Moratorium Information and Resources from Sierra Community House

09.11.20

As of September 2, there are a few more important housing tools that have been put in place to protect and empower community members. The CDC’s new executive order set in place on 9/4/2020 created protections until January 2021 for tenants nationwide experiencing COVID-19 loss of income, or medical bills more than 7.5% income. Please see below for the required declaration form. Also, there is a new resource website for Californians, HousingIsKey.com.

Please note that in California under AB3088, “no-fault” evictions actually are protected, along with those due to COVID-related loss of income. Particularly relevant to the Tahoe area, this means evictions so that landlord can sell the home, or move back in, are prohibited. Only tenant lease violations not related to payment of rent can now proceed in California.
