Capital Projects Advisory Committee

The CAP Committee is co-convened by Placer County and the North Tahoe Community Alliance and is tasked with making recommendations to the Placer County Board of Supervisors for grant awards to fund infrastructure and capital projects. Since the committee’s inception in 2018, the Tourism Master Plan and Transient Occupancy Tax Investment Policy have provided the roadmap for these recommendations.

Consulting Services RFP

The North Tahoe Community Alliance is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from qualified providers to partner with the NTCA and TCDA and the NTCA and NTBA to create an agreement for the 2023/2024 Fiscal year. We would like the vendor to review the current scope of work, the payment schedule, and the sponsorship benefits. Through the process, we would like to define our organizations’ roles and create efficiencies around: membership, services, administrative operations, marketing, events, and community impact.

2023 Special Event Sponsorship Grant Cycle

The North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) facilitates a Special Events Sponsorship Funding program for annual special events in the North Lake Tahoe region. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis beginning October 25, 2022 for events that take place in the 2023 calendar year. The total amount of the funding, which comes directly from TBID funds and is distributed to all recipients collectively, is $565,000. Sponsorship Funding is awarded to large events that: attract 500+ participants and/or spectators, generate more than 100 room nights occupied for an average of at least 2.5 nights, generate a media/PR value of more than $25,000, target an audience and messaging that is in alignment with the North Lake Tahoe consumer brand pillars, and create a diversified portfolio of events that cover human-powered sports, cultural, culinary, and health & wellness. Historically these events have included large festivals such as Wanderlust and Winter Wondergrass, sporting events such as Broken Arrow Sky Race and Spartan, cultural events such as the Lake Tahoe Dance Festival and others. Each sponsorship is reviewed on an annual basis.

2023 Partnership Funding Grant Cycle

The 2023 grant cycle is now closed. 

The North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) facilitates a Special Event Partnership Funding program for annual special events in the North Lake Tahoe region. Submissions are accepted once a year for events that take place in the subsequent calendar year. Following the application and evaluation process, a number of events will receive funds through the program. The total amount of funding to be awarded among all recipients collectively, which comes directly from TBID funds, is $50,000. Relating to the Special Event Partnership Funding program, special events are defined as: an organized annual event that generates incremental revenue for businesses in the region, including but not limited to overnight visitors for at least one Placer County lodging property, as well as out-of-area marketing exposure, and is of interest to the general public including local residents. Historically these events have included, but are not limited to: festivals, fairs, community events and certain sporting events. Qualified events must reinforce the NTCA’s branding message, provide the NTCA with a sustainable and appealing destination message, and generate revenue for regional businesses.
